Davisville, WV (April 2010) – William “Bill” Carteaux, the president and chief executive officer of The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), will be the keynote speaker during the West Virginia Polymer Alliance Zone’s annual membership and board of directors meeting on Wednesday, April 28.  The event, to run from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., will be held at the Lowe Hotel in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

Karen Facemyer, president of the Polymer Alliance Zone, said, “We are thrilled to have Bill in West Virginia and our members are looking forward to hearing his perspective on the state of the plastics industry and the trends he sees taking place both in the United States and around the world.”

Facemyer said the plastics industry is the third largest manufacturing segment in the United States. As the industry’s trade association, SPI represents the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment manufacturers and raw materials suppliers. Carteaux has served as the head of the association since 2005.  Prior to joining SPI, he worked for Demag Plastics Group as chief executive officer.

The Polymer Alliance Zone is an economic development organization that works to market the plastics industry in West Virginia and recruit plastic-related companies to locate in the state.
