Plastec East Trade Show draws more than 20,000 people Karen Facemyer, President of the Polymer Alliance Zone (PAZ), said, “Our mission at this event is to establish new or reignite existing relationships with plastic industry companies, vendors and suppliers to let them know the benefits of establishing operations in West Virginia. At the same time, we’ll be collecting information on the latest products and tools for the industry to bring back for the benefit of our members.”
Facemyer said participating in these events yield results. “The opening of PWP Industries, which has operations in the Parkersburg area, was a direct result of participating in similar trade shows several years ago,” Facemyer explained. State and local development agencies will be joining PAZ at the show. Participating organizations include the West Virginia Development Office, the Wood County Development Authority, the Jackson County Development Authority and the I-79 Development Council. The delegation will base their outreach efforts from PAZ’s plastic industry-specific trade show booth, which measures 400 square feet and is 15 feet tall. “The trade show will draw between 20,000-22,000 people,” Facemyer said. “Because of its size, the PAZ booth is very visible and is another tool we use to market West Virginia as an ideal location for the plastic industry.” The Polymer Alliance Zone is an economic development organization that works to market the plastics industry in West Virginia and recruit plastic-related companies to locate in the state.
