Davisville, WV (April 2011) – Carte Goodwin, former U.S. Senator and Jackson County native, will be the keynote speaker during the West Virginia Polymer Alliance Zone’s annual membership and board of directors meeting on Wednesday, May 4, 2011.  The event, to run from Noon – 3 p.m., will be held at the Parkersburg Country Club, in Vienna, West Virginia.   Karen Facemyer, president of the Polymer Alliance Zone, said, “This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Polymer Alliance Zone and our work to promote and develop the plastic industry in Mason, Jackson and Wood Counties.  We plan to recognize our anniversary, as well as our accomplishments and future opportunities, during the annual meeting.”

Facemyer said former Senator Goodwin will discuss his experience on Capitol Hill, as well as provide unique insight into the inner workings of the Senate and federal government.

“Given his past participation on the Polymer Alliance Zone Board of Directors, his roots in Jackson County – one of the PAZ counties – and his experience representing West Virginia on Capitol Hill, he is the perfect speaker for this anniversary meeting and we are thrilled he has agreed to speak,” Facemyer said.

The Polymer Alliance Zone is an economic development organization that works to market the plastics industry in West Virginia and recruit plastic-related companies to locate in the state.
