WTAP News Hamilton Middle School students learned all about science and plastics today, with hands on experiments. Reporter: Shannon Houser The Polymer Alliance Zone visited the middle school students and gave a hands on lesson in plastics and science. Students learned the importance of plastics and how much we use them in our every day lives.
The Hamilton Middle Students got a short break from textbook learning, but teachers are excited to put their knowledge into hands-on use. 6th Grade Science Teacher, Kim Schoenhut, expressed her excitement on her students learning with hands on experiments. "Since it's the end of the year, it's kind of taking everything that we've talked about all year long and putting it together for them. And they're getting a real chance to see everything that they've learned and how those little pieces make such a big part of everything else." The students learned about the chemistry and history of plastics and how plastics are important in our everyday lives. They also learned how to insert a skewer into a balloon without it popping, and how a bouncy ball is made to bounce so high. |
