Davisville, WV (November 2011) – A major natural gas industry employment fair will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Alan B. Mollohan Training Center, at 818 Jefferson Avenue, in Moundsville, West Virginia, representatives of the Polymer Alliance Zone announced today. The event is being hosted by the Independent Oil & Gas Association (IOGA) of West Virginia. Karen Facemyer, President of the Polymer Alliance Zone (PAZ), said, “Residents of the mid-Ohio Valley who are interested in employment in the natural gas industry should consider attending this event. More than 100 companies are anticipated to participate and they are seeking workers for a wide variety of positions – from equipment operators, truck drivers and rig hands to petroleum engineers, geologists and professional services, among many others. In most cases, these jobs offer a stable position, good pay and benefits.” Facemyer said natural gas is a key feedstock for the chemical and plastic industries and emphasized that she sees the need for workers to further develop our region’s gas supply. State and local resource agencies – such as Workforce WV, the Housing Development Fund, Glenville State College Dept. of Land Resources, Pierpont Community & Technical College, and WV Northern Community & Technical College – will be on hand to assist job seekers. The Polymer Alliance Zone is an economic development organization that works to market the plastics industry in West Virginia and recruit plastic-related companies to locate in the state.
