Train the Trainer

The Polymer Alliance Zone together with the Mid Ohio Valley Maintenance Council and the Washington County Career Center will be providing a Train The Trainer class at the PAZ facility in Parkersburg February 18th, 19th and 20th 2008. MOVMC and WCCC have been providing similar training and services activities for years and have now aligned with PAZ to provide some services to a wider range of companies at a central location. The 24 hour course is a repeat of a class designed for DuPont last year and evaluations from the first class were exceptional. Instructor Ancil Drain has taught Chemical Operator Classes for years and is a retired trainer from Union Carbide in Sistersville W.V.Participants in the class will become competent training instructors.

Course objectives include:

  • Conduct a training needs analysis that identifies the existing performance deficiencies and determines the value of the training to correct the deficiencies.
  • Write performance training objectives.
  • Using job related material develop and write a lesson plan that can be used as a training tool.
  • Work with other trainees in developing a lesson plan and objectives that support the lesson plan then make a presentation.

Course segments include:

  • communication filters
  • listening traps
  • reasons trainees act the way they do
  • styles of instruction
  • motovation, problems and barriers of instruction
  • training aids
  • "JIT", "TDL"
  • categories of behavior to be measured, and purpose of training

When:February 18—20, 2008

Time:8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Where: Polymer Alliance Zone #1 Polymer Way, Davisville, WV

Cost:$350 per person (minimum of 10) Price includes books and daily lunch Reservation
